Octomore Edition 10.1 is part of the iconic Octomore series produced by Bruichladdich Distillery on the island of Islay, Scotland. Known as one of the most heavily peated whisky ranges in the world, Octomore challenges the idea that extreme peat levels overpower flavor by demonstrating remarkable balance and complexity.
Edition 10.1 serves as the flagship expression of the Octomore 10 series. Distilled from 100 percent Scottish barley and matured for five years in first-fill American oak ex-bourbon casks, the whisky showcases both the intense peat character and the refined influence of high-quality cask maturation.
With a peat level of approximately 107 PPM, Octomore 10.1 delivers powerful smoke while maintaining layers of sweetness, fruit, and maritime character typical of Islay whiskies. Despite its relatively young age, the careful distillation process and exceptional cask selection create a whisky with impressive depth, texture, and complexity.
Bottled at natural cask strength without chill filtration or added coloring, this release was produced in limited quantities in 2019. Today, Octomore Edition 10.1 is considered a discontinued expression within the Octomore series and remains highly sought after by collectors and fans of heavily peated Scotch whisky.
