About the brand

Uncle Nearest is the fastest-growing independent American whiskey brand in history. It is named in honor of Nathan "Nearest" Green, the first known African American master distiller. Green is famously credited with teaching Jack Daniel how to make whiskey and is the pioneer of the Lincoln County Process (filtering whiskey through sugar maple charcoal). The brand was launched in 2017 to ensure his legacy was finally recognized and is currently led by CEO Fawn Weaver and Master Blender Victoria Eady Butler (Green’s great-great-granddaughter).
