A standout release from Old Elk’s Master’s Blend Series, Wheat N’ Rye brings together two of the distillery’s most distinctive whiskeys under the guidance of Master Distiller Greg Metze. This limited expression blends award winning 7 year Straight Wheat Whiskey with 6 year Straight Rye Whiskey to create a harmonious balance of sweetness and spice.
The resulting composite mashbill is approximately 57.6% wheat, 38% rye and 4.4% malted barley. Bottled at a robust 108.4 proof, it delivers real depth and presence while remaining approachable and layered.
On the nose, expect fresh baked bread, honey, caramel, green apple and lively rye spice. The palate opens sweet with caramel, cherries and honey before the rye spice builds, joined by subtle oak. The finish is warm and lingering, with oak and spice carrying through.
