The first rye ever released under the 1792 label, this Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey pays tribute to the year Kentucky became a state. Crafted at the historic Barton 1792 Distillery in Bardstown, it was developed by Master Distiller Roos Cornelissen using rye from three regions: Canada for floral lift, the northern United States for peppery spice, and Europe for bready, herbal depth. Fermented with the distillery's signature bourbon yeast, it adds a fruit forward sweetness to balance the spice of the grain.
Bottled at a robust 100 proof (50% ABV), it delivers the bold, full character rye lovers look for. The aroma offers warm baking spices and floral rye with spiced fruit and a touch of caramel. On the palate it is big and spicy, with layers of cinnamon, black pepper, molasses, stone fruit and toasted oak. The finish is medium to long, warm and lingering.
