The whiskey is named after Samuel "Mister Sam" Bronfman, who transformed Seagram’s into a global empire. It was created by Sazerac Master Blender Drew Mayville, who served as the final Master Blender at Seagram’s and created this blend as a personal tribute to his predecessor’s legacy. Mister Sam is the "hidden crown jewel" of the Sazerac portfolio.
