About the product

Tesoro Azteca Extra Añejo Tequila is a premium aged tequila produced in the historic tequila-making region of Amatitán, Jalisco, an area long considered one of the birthplaces of traditional tequila production. The spirit is crafted using carefully selected Blue Weber agave grown in the rich volcanic soils of the region, where agave cultivation has been central to Mexican distilling traditions for centuries.

As an Extra Añejo tequila, the spirit is aged for several years in oak barrels, allowing it to develop deeper complexity, smoothness, and a richer character than younger tequila styles. The extended maturation softens the natural intensity of the agave while adding layers of oak-derived flavors, creating a refined and luxurious profile.

The result is a sophisticated tequila that balances the natural sweetness of cooked agave with the warmth of oak aging. Its smooth texture and deep flavor make it well suited for slow sipping, where the layered aromas and long finish can be fully appreciated.

About the brand

Tesoro Azteca (translated as "Aztec Treasure") is a craft brand produced at NOM 1572 (Socialismo, S.A. de C.V.). The brand focuses on traditional production methods, using 100% Blue Weber agave and slow-cooking in autoclaves. While it may not have the massive marketing machine of brands like Don Julio, it has gained a cult following among aficionados for delivering a "top-shelf" aging experience at a more accessible price point.
