Kilkerran is the single malt produced at Glengyle Distillery, the sister distillery to the legendary Springbank. The 8 Year Old Cask Strength series is a highlight of their annual calendar, usually released in two distinct batches: one matured in Bourbon casks and one in Sherry casks. The Sherry editions are famous for being "smoldering sherry bombs," combining the heavy, oily, and slightly "industrial" funk of Campbeltown spirit with the deep, dark fruit of intensive sherry maturation.
