About the product
A sumptuous Highland single malt inspired by the sweet, buttery scents of a French pastry shop. Created by Dr Bill Lumsden as the refined successor to Nectar D’Or, this expression is aged for 14 years in bourbon casks to build depth and creaminess, then finished for two years in a carefully chosen selection of sweet white wine casks from around the world.
Sauternes and Monbazillac casks from France contribute notes of pastry, brioche, meringue and baked apples. Moscatel casks from Spain add syrupy dessert-like sweetness, while Tokaji casks from Hungary bring white chocolate, almond and honeycomb. Bottled at 46% ABV with a bronze gold colour, the nose is rich and almost decadent, offering baking brioche, leesy wine, baked apricot, vanilla pudding, toasted almond and hints of chocolate truffles. On the palate it is lush and honeyed, with swirls of orange syrup, brioche, spice and lemon zest. The finish is long and lingering, leaving citrus and honeycomb on the tongue.
