About the product

Louis Roederer Collection 244 represents the pinnacle of non-vintage Champagne craftsmanship. This prestigious cuvée blends wines from multiple vintages to achieve a consistent house style marked by elegance, complexity, and refinement.

With its golden hue and fine bubbles, Collection 244 delivers a sophisticated palate of citrus, brioche, and subtle mineral notes. The extended aging on lees contributes to its creamy texture and lingering finish.

Perfect for celebrations or as an aperitif, this Champagne pairs beautifully with seafood, poultry, and light appetizers. A timeless choice for those who appreciate quality and tradition in every glass.

Tasting Profile & Food Pairings

Taste Notes (Collection 244)

  • Nose: Intense and bright. It offers aromas of ripe stone fruits (peach, nectarine), white flowers, and hints of honeycomb and light toast.
  • Palate: A dense, structured mouthfeel. It features layers of candied lemon, roasted almonds, and brioche, balanced by a "racy" acidity and a chalky, mineral backbone.
  • Finish: Long, elegant, and saline, leaving a refreshing citrus tingle.

Food Pairings

  • Seafood: Outstanding with Langoustines, Seared Scallops, or a rich fish like sea bass in a buttery sauce.
  • Luxury: A classic match for Foie Gras or truffle-infused dishes.
  • Casual Luxury: Elevates Fried Chicken or fish and chips by cutting through the richness with its fine effervecence and acidity.

About the brand

Louis Roederer is one of the last major independent, family-run Champagne houses, founded in 1776. While they are world-famous for their prestige cuvée, Cristal, the house made waves in 2021 by discontinuing their legendary "Brut Premier" (which had been the standard since 1986).

In its place, they launched the "Collection" series. This isn't just a rebrand; it’s a fundamental shift in philosophy. While traditional non-vintage (NV) Champagnes aim for identical consistency every year, the Collection series embraces the "singularity" of each harvest. Each edition is numbered based on the number of harvests since the house's founding (e.g., Collection 244 is the 244th blend).
