About the brand
The brand is named after the Sazerac Coffee House in New Orleans, where the world’s first branded cocktail (The Sazerac) was born in the mid-1800s. Originally made with French brandy, the cocktail switched to American Rye whiskey as it became more popular and available. The Sazerac brand today is a tribute to that New Orleans heritage. Because rye grain matures differently than corn, 18 years is often considered the "absolute limit" for rye before it becomes too bitter. This release is famous for hitting that "apex" of flavor.
