Frey Ranch is one of the few true "estate" distilleries in the United States, meaning every grain used in their mash bill is grown, harvested, and malted on their 1,500-acre farm in Fallon, Nevada. This specific bottling is part of the "Private Barrel Select" program, a collaboration between the distillery and the "Shop Bourbon" whiskey group. Unlike their standard 90-proof or 100-proof releases, these single barrels are chosen for their "standout" personalities and are bottled exactly as they came out of the wood.
