Celebrating 20 years of High West Distillery, A Midwinter Night’s Dram Act 14 is the most ambitious release in this beloved seasonal series. Built on a blend of straight rye whiskeys aged four to ten years, it is finished in a carefully selected combination of Ruby and Tawny Port barrels alongside Amontillado, Oloroso and PX Sherry casks for the first time.
Bottled at 98.6 proof without chill filtration, the nose offers wild strawberries, blackberry lemon preserves, singed apple, grapefruit blossom, honeycomb and warm figs. On the palate you will find blood orange, cherry fruit leather, cinnamon dusted plum crumble, quince jam, apricot scone, toasted hazelnuts and a touch of cold brew coffee. The finish is rich and vibrant, reminiscent of a jam thumbprint cookie dipped in spiced chai.
A complex, layered whiskey that captures the warmth and comfort of winter, best enjoyed neat beside a warm fire as the snow falls outside.
