About The Product
The Opus One 2021 vintage represents the pinnacle of precision winemaking in Napa Valley, born from the collaboration between Baron Philippe de Rothschild of Château Mouton Rothschild and Robert Mondavi. This handcrafted wine is the result of a rigorous viticultural philosophy and a steadfast commitment to excellence that has defined Opus One since its founding in 1978.
The 2021 vintage benefits from one of the most balanced growing seasons in recent memory, with moderate temperatures and optimal hang time, allowing for exceptional flavor development and phenolic ripeness. Grapes are hand-harvested at night from meticulously managed estate vineyards in Oakville—primarily To Kalon Vineyard—and sorted berry by berry to ensure only the finest fruit is used.
Fermentation is carried out in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks followed by a prolonged aging regimen of 18 months in new French oak barrels. The winemaking team applies a philosophy of minimal intervention to preserve the vineyard’s expression while ensuring structure and age-worthiness.
This wooden collector's case includes 5 bottles of the 2021 vintage plus 1 additional bottle, making it ideal for cellaring, gifting, or vertical collection building. Each bottle reflects the harmony of Bordeaux tradition and Californian innovation, captured in an enduring legacy of craftsmanship.
