Created by blending hand-selected straight rye whiskies from Kentucky and Indiana with Widow Jane’s own New York–made rye, Paradigm reflects a marriage of heritage and innovation. Proofed with pure limestone water from the legendary Rosendale Mines, it offers clarity and depth that stand out in the glass.

Widow Jane is a Brooklyn-based whiskey brand born out of the Red Hook neighborhood, where old-world craftsmanship meets modern creativity. It was founded in 2012 by Daniel Preston and Vince Oleson, initially as a chocolate factory before evolving into a distillery with a bold vision. Their commitment to quality and terroir carried over seamlessly into whiskey, guided by the same care they once applied in crafting single-origin chocolate.

The brand is named after the Widow Jane limestone mine in Rosendale, New York—the source of their distinctive proofing water. This mineral-rich water, filtered through centuries-old limestone, imparts a silky mouthfeel and signature depth to every bottle. That water is more than just a component—it’s the brand’s fingerprint.

Widow Jane sources aged straight bourbons and ryes from Kentucky, Indiana, and Tennessee, then assembles and finishes them in Brooklyn using that unique water. They’re also developing their own distillation capabilities using heirloom “Baby Jane” corn varieties and a hybrid still built in Red Hook. A long-term goal is to move entirely to in-house grain-to-glass production, allowing every expression to be truly built from New York soil, spirit, and water.
